Should your knees grip the motorcycle while standing?

Use enough lower-body contact to guide the motorcycle without clamping it rigidly. Constant maximum pressure increases fatigue and removes the joint movement that allows the bike to move beneath the rider.

Why do my arms get tired in the attack position?

Arm fatigue often means the hands are supporting body weight instead of controlling the motorcycle. Check for:

  • Hips too far behind or ahead of the supporting foot position
  • Locked elbows, raised shoulders, or excessive grip pressure
  • Late body response during acceleration or deceleration
  • Poor handlebar or lever reach, unsuitable motorcycle fit, or general fatigue

How should a beginner practice standing control?

Build the skill from stationary fit to simple movement; do not begin on a rough trail. Use this progression:

  1. Verify peg support and control reach with the motorcycle powered off.
  2. Practice smooth sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit transitions while stationary.
  3. Ride a straight line at walking pace in the approved low-output setting.
  4. Add mild acceleration and deceleration without pulling on the bars.
  5. Introduce one small surface feature only after the earlier stages are repeatable.
